Osprey Astronova is a 23 L city backpack for studying, daily movement and the commute to work. Its logic is not built around travel or a strict business format, but around an ordinary day: a laptop, personal items, a bottle, small accessories and quick movement between the city, campus and the work route.
Osprey is an American brand founded in 1974. In Astronova, its experience with backpacks for active movement is presented calmly and without unnecessary technical complexity: the backpack remains urban, but gains clear elements for moving through the day.
The series is built around bluesign® APPROVED recycled polyester with a PFAS-free water-repellent treatment, an internal laptop sleeve for laptops up to 16", basic organization and an AirScape™ backpanel. From the outside, Astronova looks restrained: without overloaded hiking styling, but with details that work in everyday use.
In terms of construction, the backpack cannot honestly be described as rigid or semi-rigid: this type of body structure is not confirmed. It is better to see it as a city textile backpack whose shape largely depends on how it is packed. The 300Dx450D polyester forms the main body, while the denser 600D polyester is used on the bottom. The logic is simple: the upper part carries the main volume, while the lower zone gets a denser textile base.
Inside, Astronova is organized without unnecessary complexity. The main compartment holds the daily set of items, while the laptop sleeve sits inside and fits most laptops up to 16". A laptop retainer and soft protective padding are not confirmed, so the backpack should not be seen as a specialized model with reinforced device protection. Its use case is softer: the laptop sits separately from the main load, but without a stated advanced protective structure.
The front internal organization pocket helps separate small items from the main volume. There is also a mesh pocket and a key clip. This is not a large business system for documents and accessories, but basic separation for items that should not disappear at the bottom of the backpack.
On the outside, there are two bottle pockets, front-panel loops and a light attachment point. The side pockets give a bottle its own place, so it does not need to be carried inside next to tech and personal items. The front loops are suitable for external attachment, while the light attachment point is connected with movement around the city, especially on the way to work or study.
