Deuter Pico is a children’s backpack for kindergarten, walks, and everyday items for kids aged 2 and up. It is not a school or travel model, but a small 5 L format for a simple daily scenario: carrying favorite little things, a small set of essentials, and keeping them separate, “like grown-ups do.”
Deuter is a German brand founded in 1898. In Pico, its backpack logic is presented in the lightest children’s format: without unnecessary complexity, but with a clear fit and neat organization for a child’s first independent belongings.
The series is built around a compact size, 600D REC PES material made from recycled PET, one main compartment, and two elastic side pockets. There is no complex business or hiking-style organization here. Pico is designed as a first small backpack for a child who does not need to organize tech and documents, but simply needs their own space for the day’s things.
Deuter does not claim a rigid frame or fixed shape for Pico. So it should not be seen as a backpack that holds a strict silhouette on its own. In use, it behaves more like a small textile format: when empty, it feels softer; when filled, its shape depends on what is inside.
At the same time, the backpack has a padded soft back, the Contact back system, and S-shaped shoulder straps with a soft edge. This is part of its children’s logic: Pico is not made for heavy loads, but for sitting on a small back and handling short daily routes.
Inside, everything is simple: one 5 L main compartment. Outside, there are two elastic side pockets. They give quick access to small items that do not need to go inside the main space. The sternum strap helps secure the backpack on the child, while the reflective name lettering adds a clear external detail for a kid-focused use case.
Pico works best for kindergarten, walks, and everyday situations where a child needs their own small backpack for personal belongings.
Deuter Pico is a good fit for children aged 2 and up when they need a small backpack for kindergarten and their own things for the day. Its purpose is not volume or advanced organization, but a simple children’s format: a lightweight size, one main compartment, side pockets, and a fit designed for a small user.
