When a briefcase needs to travel with your suitcase

The Bond models currently shown here have a rear sleeve that secures the bag to a suitcase's telescopic handle. At an airport, railway station or on the way to a hotel, the briefcase can move with the main luggage instead of being carried constantly by hand or over the shoulder. After the trip, the strap can be removed and the bag carried by its top handles. This setup is particularly relevant when the same briefcase is used for work meetings and short business trips.

The Bond models share a soft exterior format, but their interiors differ. Some briefcases have one main compartment with pockets for documents, a laptop and a tablet, while others have two independent zipped compartments. Exterior pockets also vary in number and position. Similar outer dimensions therefore do not guarantee that a folder, charger and personal items will be organized in the same way.

What to check against your work kit

• Documents. The category accommodates A4 papers, but one large compartment and two separate compartments suit different ways of organizing them.
• Laptop and tablet. Selected models have dedicated device pockets, but their size and padding vary; check laptop compatibility against both the listed screen size and the device's actual dimensions.
• Small travel essentials. Exterior pockets can separate a phone, keys or tickets from the main contents, but their position should match the items you need to reach frequently.
