Hedgren Commute is a series of backpacks designed for city use, work, and daily movement. Everything inside is built around a laptop, documents, and everyday essentials. The brand has Belgian roots - Hedgren was founded in 1993 - and that approach to practical, everyday solutions comes through in a calm, balanced way. At the same time, the series isn’t limited to a single format: some models are geared toward classic urban use, while others are adapted for cycling.
The foundation of the series is a combination of recycled polyester with coating and a well-structured internal layout. The fabric creates a clean, composed surface without a rigid frame. Depending on the model, it may feel slightly denser or softer, but overall this is a format without fixed geometry: the material doesn’t hold its shape on its own and adapts to what’s inside.
The construction isn’t unified. Within the series, there are backpacks with one, two, or three compartments, as well as roll-top formats. Because of this, behavior varies from model to model. When empty, the backpack looks softer and more relaxed. Once packed, it gathers around the contents, and the shape is defined by what’s inside. Items don’t sit in a single layer - they’re distributed across zones, making access more predictable. At the same time, the structure varies, from simpler layouts to more separated configurations depending on the model.
External elements are built around specific use cases. In urban models, these include pockets, RFID protection, and cable pass-through. In travel-oriented models, there’s a luggage attachment. Bike-focused versions add mounting points, reflective elements, and details connected to cycling. Some models also include a rain cover that protects the backpack from above.
The use case isn’t limited to one scenario. It ranges from everyday city and work use to short trips and movement with a suitcase. A separate branch within the series is designed for cycling, with its own external logic.
