Hedgren Furo backpacks

Hedgren Furo is a series of backpacks and bags for the city, work, travel, and days out with a child. It is not one backpack offered in several sizes, but a collection of different formats: from laptop-ready models to a travel option for cabin luggage and a separate backpack for children’s essentials.

Hedgren is a Belgian brand founded in 1993. In Furo, its urban and travel logic feels calm and understated: no overloaded look, just a focus on a minimalist shape, partially recycled materials, and organisation built around a specific task.

The backpacks use 75×150D polyester with 53% RPET, with a lining made from 75D Polyester, 100% RPET. This is a textile base without a confirmed rigid structure, so Furo should not be seen as a line where every model keeps the same fixed shape.

How the body behaves depends on the specific backpack. The series does not have one confirmed construction type: soft, semi-rigid, or framed. That is why it is better to choose not only by volume or colour, but by use case. RAPPU and SHIKI are closer to an urban business format, TABI is built around travel and cabin luggage, while TSUTSUMI is designed for walks and trips with a child.

The internal organisation also differs from model to model. Some backpacks have two main compartments, internal pockets, an RFID-protected pocket, space for documents, and a compartment or holder for a laptop. In these models, belongings are separated into clear zones: tech in one place, papers in another, and smaller items closer to the pockets.

TABI works differently: it has a clothing compartment, a pocket for wet items, and an opening closer to a travel format. TSUTSUMI shifts the focus toward children’s essentials, with thermal bottle pockets, stroller attachment, and a changing mat.

The external elements on Furo do not feel random. The luggage sleeve helps use the backpack while travelling with a suitcase. Side pockets give space for a bottle or umbrella on some models. A hidden safety pocket in the back panel is meant for items that should not sit in the main compartment. Some models include a rain cover, while RAPPU and SHIKI have confirmed lockable elements for the laptop compartment.

The use cases are easy to separate. RAPPU and SHIKI are suited to the city, work, and moving around with a laptop. TABI is worth considering for short trips when clothes and personal items need to be packed closer to the logic of soft cabin luggage. TSUTSUMI is a separate model for walks and trips with a child, not a business or hiking backpack.

Furo is for those who are not looking for one universal backpack “for everything”, but a specific Hedgren format for their day: laptop and documents, a short trip, everyday items, or walks with a child.
