Samsonite Outtrax is a series of soft travel backpacks for short trips, flights, and underseat placement. Its logic is built not around a regular city day, but around travel: carrying a laptop, tablet, clothes, bottle, and personal items in a cabin or underseat format.
Samsonite is an American brand founded in 1910. In Outtrax, its luggage background comes through in a soft backpack format: the series does not replace a suitcase, but offers a more organised space for a short trip than a standard city backpack.
The series is built around polyester, Ripstop fabric with a TPU coating, water-repellent fabric, recycled PET in the outer material and lining, and travel-focused organisation inside. This is not a backpack with one large compartment only: inside, there is a separate laptop section, a tablet pocket, a clothing compartment, a mesh pocket, a key holder, a divider panel, and fixing straps.
In construction, Outtrax is a soft series. The body should not be seen as rigid or framed: when empty, it behaves more softly, and when packed, it forms around the contents. The reinforced bottom made from textured 3D fabric helps the lower part work better in a travel scenario, but it does not turn the backpack into a rigid luggage shell.
The internal logic is closer to a soft suitcase format. Clothes get their own zone, tech has a separate section, and smaller items can be kept away from the main volume. The fixing straps matter specifically when travelling: items are not just placed in one shared space, but receive basic fixation while the backpack is being carried.
The external elements also follow the travel logic. The suitcase sleeve helps use the backpack together with luggage. Side compression straps allow the body to be tightened after packing. Front and rear pockets create separate access zones, while the side pockets and bottle holder keep some smaller items out of the main compartment.
There are two confirmed underseat formats within the series. The 15.6″ model is built around 40×30×20 cm dimensions, 29 L volume, and the Ryanair free cabin bag scenario. The 17.3″ model is larger: 45×36×20 cm, 34 L, and the easyJet free cabin bag scenario. That is why Outtrax should be chosen not only by laptop size, but also by the flight scenario and amount of items the backpack needs to carry.
Outtrax suits those looking for a soft travel backpack for short trips, cabin luggage, and underseat placement. It is a format for situations where clothes, tech, and personal items need to be separated without moving to a full-size suitcase.
