Fulton offers umbrellas for very different situations: compact folding models that are easy to carry in a bag every day, classic stick umbrellas, transparent dome designs and large golf umbrellas. So it makes sense to look beyond the design and focus on three practical details – folded size, weight and canopy diameter.
How to choose a Fulton umbrella
If the umbrella is going to stay in your bag or backpack most of the time, folded length and weight matter most. The Fulton Tiny-1, for example, folds down to 15 cm, weighs around 160 g and has an 85 cm canopy. The Minilite-1 is larger: 25 cm when folded, around 238 g in weight and a 96 cm canopy. The trade-off is straightforward: Tiny-1 takes up less space, while Minilite-1 provides slightly more coverage from the rain.
If compact size is less important, stick umbrellas are another option. Fulton also makes transparent dome models such as the Birdcage, with a deep canopy that still allows you to see through it. This format feels quite different from a standard folding umbrella, both in size and in the amount of coverage it provides.
Large golf umbrellas form a separate category. The Fulton Cyclone, for example, has a canopy diameter of up to 131 cm. According to the manufacturer, its frame has been tested in wind speeds of up to 78 mph. This type of umbrella is designed for situations where maximum coverage matters more than compact dimensions.
Fulton develops its umbrella frames with its own team of mechanical engineers, and the manufacturer states that new constructions are tested in a wind tunnel before entering production. Specifications still vary from one model to another. Enhanced wind resistance, double canopies, UV protection and other features are available only on certain umbrellas, so these details should be checked on the individual product page.
It is usually better to choose the opening mechanism after deciding on the right format. With a folding umbrella, size and weight tend to matter most; with a stick or golf umbrella, canopy size and frame construction become more important. After that, you can look at the opening system, spoke materials, cover, UV protection and other model-specific features.
The Koffer.UA catalogue lets you explore Fulton umbrellas in different formats and choose a model by canopy size, folded dimensions, weight and other characteristics.
